RAWALPINDI, Nov 07 (APP):The Kallar Syedan Police arrested a man accused of committing a house theft four months ago and recovered gold ornaments and cash worth Rs6.05 million, a Rawalpindi Police Spokesman said on Friday.
He stated that the suspect, who was known to the complainant’s family and frequently visited their home, allegedly took advantage of the situation and stole gold ornaments from the house.
According to the spokesman, the police recovered Rs4.8 million worth of gold ornaments and Rs1.25 million in proceeds from the sale of some of the stolen jewellery.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Muhammad Nabeel Khokhar said the arrest was made through a combination of technical and human intelligence. He added that the stolen items were recovered following the suspect’s disclosure and identification of the locations.
“The suspect will be challaned before the court with solid evidence,” the SP said.
