China commissions 3rd aircraft carrier Fujian: Xinhua

BEIJING , Nov 7 (Kyodo/APP): China has commissioned its third aircraft carrier, the Fujian, in the southern province of Hainan, state-run media said Friday.

The over 80,000-ton Fujian is China’s largest aircraft carrier and the first to be equipped with a cutting-edge electromagnetic catapult system that speeds up the takeoff of fighter jets.
