ECP allots symbols to candidates for NA-18 Haripur by-election

HARIPUR, Nov 07 (APP):The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Friday has officially allotted election symbols to the contesting candidates for the upcoming by-election in NA-18 (Haripur).
According to Form-33 issued by Returning Officer Naveed ur Rehman, a total of nine candidates will contest the seat vacated in the National Assembly.
As per the list, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Babar Nawaz Khan has been allotted the “Tiger” symbol, while Irum Fatima of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) will contest with the “Arrow” symbol. Abdul Shakoor of the Pakistan Nazriyati Party has been given the “Railway Engine” symbol.
Independent candidates include Asad Usman with the “Teapot” symbol, Khurshid Anwar Khan with “Table”, Syed Ali Zawar Hussain Naqvi with “Queen”, Shehernaz Omar Ayub with “Kettle”, and Muhammad Sarwar with “Cricket Stumps.”
Meanwhile, Rustam Khan, representing the Hazara Qaumi Mahaz, has been allotted the “Butterfly” symbol.
The by-election for NA-18 Haripur is expected to be closely contested, with political observers eyeing a tough competition between PML-N candidate Babar Nawaz Khan and independent candidate Shernaz Omer Ayub wife of former Federal Minister. The Returning Officer finalized the allocation process on November 6, 2025, at Haripur.
