The United States, Uzbekistan strengthen partnership in agricultural sector

WASHINGTON, Nov 07 (UzA/APP) : During the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the United States of America, a meeting took place with the leadership of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
U.S. Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Stephen Vaden noted that the discussion with the President of Uzbekistan led to specific agreements to launch a trade and agricultural partnership.
He emphasized that the United States plans to begin supplying soybeans and cotton from American farmers to Uzbekistan, expressing the hope that this would mark the start of a long-term, large-scale collaboration. The U.S. side sees Uzbekistan as a new and promising market and expressed gratitude for the country’s interest in high-quality American agricultural products.
Stephen Vaden noted that American farmers rely on trustworthy partners worldwide and that Uzbekistan is viewed as one such partner.
He highlighted the positive changes taking place in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, particularly in creating a favorable investment climate.
According to the Deputy Secretary, Uzbekistan is undergoing significant economic and legal reforms that facilitate foreign investment and enable mutually beneficial projects. The United States expressed appreciation for this openness and noted optimism regarding the further strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
