LAHORE, Nov 06 (APP):Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan has said that the resolution passed by the PA should be included in the forthcoming 27th Constitutional Amendment to provide constitutional protection to local governments, so that powers are genuinely transferred to the grassroots level.
He expressed these views while addressing the Inter-School Speech Competition 2025 organized by the Unique Group of Institutions here on Thursday.
Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said that the speech competition reminded him of his student days. He said, “Information Technology has made the pursuit of knowledge much easier. Today’s students are more informed.”
Discussing global and regional affairs, he said that the ongoing oppression and violence in Palestine is a tragedy for humanity. He said that war is never a solution, but when the rights of nations are usurped and people are divided on the basis of ethnic prejudice, then standing up for principles becomes inevitable.
Speaking on Pakistan-Afghanistan negotiations, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said,”If talks are held with sincerity, lasting peace is possible.”
