Inaugural Mahan Air Flight takes off from Islamabad to Tehran

ISLAMABAD, Nov 06 (APP): The inaugural flight of Mahan Air (W5-1184) successfully departed from Islamabad International Airport (IIAP) for Tehran on Thursday, marking the commencement of the Iranian carrier’s regular air service between the two capitals.
A brief ceremony organized by SAPS Management was held at IIAP to celebrate the launch. The event was attended by the Chief Operating Officer and Airport Manager of IIAP, the Chief Security Officer, and senior officials and representatives from the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), Airport Security Force (ASF), and SAPS.
According to airport officials, all operational and facilitation arrangements were efficiently handled by the concerned teams of PAA and SAPS, ensuring a smooth, safe, and timely departure in line with international aviation standards and established procedures.
The arriving Mahan Air flight brought 97 passengers to Islamabad, while 264 passengers departed on the outbound flight to Tehran.
Mahan Air is scheduled to operate two weekly flights between Islamabad and Tehran, further strengthening air connectivity and people-to-people exchanges between Pakistan and Iran.
