ISLAMABAD, Nov 06 (APP):On the occasion of Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Jammu (Jammu Martyrs’ Day), Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of freedom and identity, calling them “the torchbearers who illuminated the path to liberty with their blood.”
In his message, Minister Naqvi said the martyrs of Jammu wrote an everlasting tale of resilience and sacrifice in the face of tyranny and oppression. “Every drop of blood shed in Jammu continues to echo as a call for freedom, shaking the conscience of the world,” he stated.
Recalling the tragic events of November 6, 1947, Naqvi said that over 200,000 Muslims were massacred in Jammu when Dogra forces, in collusion with Hindu extremists, carried out an organized campaign of violence and displacement. “Entire families were wiped out in this horrific episode, which exposed the ugly face of the so-called democracy responsible for such atrocities,” he added.
The interior minister condemned the continued brutality of Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, saying that Pakistan stands firm in extending diplomatic, political, and moral support to the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for self-determination.
“Jammu Martyrs’ Day is a glowing symbol of the struggle for freedom,” Naqvi remarked. “It reminds us that sacrifices never go in vain, tyranny will perish, and the dawn of freedom will surely rise.”
