MULTAN, Nov 06 (APP):Director General (DG), Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), Kareem Bakhsh, has issued urgent directives to ensure strict implementation of dengue prevention measures across all parks in the city.
He emphasized that negligence in anti-dengue efforts will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
During his visit to various parks on Thursday, he stressed the need for full compliance with the government’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on dengue control. He said that all relevant staff have been instructed to remain vigilant and to maintain cleanliness and hygiene within park premises.
Kareem Bakhsh highlighted that the Punjab government’s anti-dengue guidelines were being implemented rigorously and the PHA was working in close coordination with the district administration to eliminate mosquito breeding sites.
He directed the dengue control cell to perform its duties actively and ensure the display of precautionary information for visitors in all parks. He also instructed that no stagnant water should be allowed to accumulate anywhere within the parks, and that regular trimming of plants and grass must be carried out.
The DG PHA ordered dengue spray drives, proper drainage arrangements after rainfall, and the removal of old tires, bottles, or tree cavities that may collect water.
“All potential mosquito breeding spots must be cleaned thoroughly,” he said, adding that PHA teams will play an active role in making Multan’s parks safe and dengue-free.
