ISLAMABAD, Nov 06 (APP): Interior Minister of the Republic of Turkiye Ali Yerlikaya, who is currently on an official visit to Pakistan, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, at the Prime Minister House here on Thursday.
During the warm and cordial meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the Turkish Minister and his delegation, and said that the visit highlighted the strong fraternal ties between Pakistan and Turkiye.
The Prime Minister conveyed his warm regards and greetings to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkiye and reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolute commitment to further deepen bilateral cooperation in the fields of security, counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, police training, disaster management, trade, and economic development.
The Prime Minister praised Turkiye’s strong and unwavering support for Pakistan’s stance on key issues. He particularly thanked the Turkish leadership for its role in facilitating the ongoing peace talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Istanbul.
While thanking the Prime Minister for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation, the Turkish Interior Minister conveyed greetings from President Erdogan and expressed Türkiye’s strong desire for enhanced collaboration in law enforcement, intelligence-sharing, and disaster management.
The Prime Minister was assisted by Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister, Interior Minister, Minister of State for Interior, SAPM Tariq Fatemi, Chairman NDMA, Interior Secretary and Foreign Secretary.
