ISLAMABAD, Nov 06 (APP): The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding social protection and poverty alleviation efforts in Pakistan’s merged districts.
This was underscored during a meeting between BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Merged Districts, Mr. Mubarak Zeb, at the BISP Headquarters on Thursday.
The two sides discussed ongoing and future initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of vulnerable families in the merged areas.
Mubarak Zeb praised BISP’s significant role in supporting low-income communities and shared recommendations to further enhance the programme’s outreach and effectiveness.
Chairperson Rubina Khalid assured that BISP continues to prioritize the merged districts, utilizing all available resources to ensure that financial assistance reaches deserving households transparently and efficiently.
Both sides agreed to continue close collaboration to strengthen social protection mechanisms and broaden the impact of welfare programmes across the region.
