LAHORE, Nov 06 (APP):A convoy of Indian Sikh pilgrims visiting Pakistan on a 10-day tour under the supervision of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) and the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony reached Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal after completing the Gurdwara Sachcha Sauda Yatra in Farooqabad, Sheikhupura district.
The pilgrims, traveling in three convoys under tight security, performed religious rituals at Gurdwara Sachcha Sauda, the historic site where Guru Nanak Dev Ji served food to the hungry. The sacred site is located about 3km from Farooqabad and 15km west of Sheikhupura.
Expressing satisfaction with the arrangements, Nishan Singh, member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), said that comfortable lodging, clean water, and organised ‘langar’ services were provided. Deputy Party Leader Gurmeet Singh Boh appreciated the preservation of religious sites, while Hermeet Singh of the Delhi Gurdwara Management Committee highlighted the provision of medical support, transport, and other facilities as a clear sign of Pakistan’s support for minority communities.
Additional Secretary Shrines, Nasir Mushtaq, lauded the ETPB team and district administration for the smooth management of the three-day central celebrations at Gurdwara Janm Asthan Nankana Sahib, admitting that Sikh pilgrims from India and around the world leave Pakistan carrying a message of peace and harmony.
After the Yatra, the pilgrims were transported in three secure bus convoys from Sheikhupura to Hasan Abdal. Gurdwara Panja Sahib was decorated with lights, clean lodging facilities, and langar arrangements. During their one-day stay, the pilgrims will perform religious rituals and visit Baba Wali Kandhari.
