ISLAMABAD, Nov 06 (APP):Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has expressed satisfaction over the pace and quality of construction at the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project, describing it as a “major milestone” in efforts to improve traffic flow across the capital.

During a visit to the construction site on Thursday, Randhawa was accompanied by Member of Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza and Member Planning and Design Dr Khalid Hafiz.
He was briefed by project engineers on the progress of ongoing work, which includes concrete pouring, piling, earthwork and steel fixing.

Officials said excavation of the underpass had already been completed and that construction was continuing around the clock to meet deadlines.
Randhawa expressed satisfaction with the work carried out so far, but stressed that quality standards must be maintained throughout.
“High quality and construction standards must be maintained at all costs,” he said, directing that the project be completed on schedule with close supervision to ensure compliance with safety and design specifications.
He also instructed officials to prepare landscaping plans, an environmentally friendly plantation and the installation of permanent LED lighting to improve the underpass’s appearance and sustainability.
Randhawa said the project would significantly reduce congestion and provide more comfortable travel for commuters.
“The Shaheen Chowk Underpass will not only improve traffic flow but will also make daily travel easier for students and residents in the adjoining areas,” he noted.
