LAHORE, Nov 06 (APP): Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (AMC)/ Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal has said that the Institute of Public Health (IPH) is playing a vital role in promoting public health, improving hospital management, and preventing diseases in society.
He said that through modern training programs, hospital administrative staff are being trained according to international standards to ensure that patients receive efficient and quality medical care.
Prof. Farooq Afzal appreciated the revolutionary health sector initiatives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and said that under her leadership, positive changes are being witnessed in the province’s public health system. He added that public awareness campaigns are motivating citizens to adopt healthy lifestyles and protect themselves from diseases.
He expressed these views while addressing a seminar at the Institute of Public Health Lahore on Thursday as the chief guest, held on the topic of enhancing hospital administrative capacity and disease prevention.
Dean IPH Prof. Dr. Saira Afzal, while speaking on the occasion, said that the institution is not only engaged in research activities related to disease prevention but also conducting training programs and courses for hospital administrators and public health professionals. She added that IPH is committed to strengthening the health sector on scientific foundations in line with the Punjab government’s vision.
Prof. Saira Afzal further stated that the Institute of Public Health is developing effective strategies to address public health challenges in collaboration with national and international organizations.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, a commemorative shield was presented to the chief guest, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal. Participants appreciated the efforts of the Institute of Public Health and pledged to continue collaborative efforts for a healthy Punjab.
