ISLAMABAD, Nov 06 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired an important meeting to review progress on crime control measures and modernization of policing in the Federal Capital.

The meeting was attended by DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DIG Security Muhammad Atiq Tahir, DIG Headquarters/Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joiya, DIG Law & Order/Training Malik Jameel Zafar, as well as AIGs, SSPs and Zonal SPs.

An official told APP on Thursday that the IGP Rizvi reviewed the ongoing efforts for crime prevention, investigative improvements, enhanced patrolling and surveillance, upgradation of police resources, and protection of sensitive locations and important personalities. He directed all officers to strengthen public-friendly policing, community engagement, quick response systems and continuous communication with citizens.

He emphasized that the Islamabad Police remains fully committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens. He instructed the officers to expedite upgradation of the Safe City monitoring infrastructure, ensure effective deployment at high-alert points, and take concrete measures to promptly address public complaints.
The IGP Rizvi also reviewed initiatives for professional development, including specialized training courses for police officers. He directed senior officers to enhance the skills of personnel, improve the quality of elite and tactical training, and align capacity-building programs with the requirements of modern policing.
ICT Police reaffirmed its resolve to maintain law and order and deliver efficient policing services to the public.
