RAWALPINDI, Nov 06 (APP):The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday has issued arrest warrants for the bank officials for not complying with the court orders in Aleema Khanum case, seeking bank accounts freezing. Judge Amjad Shah heard the arguments in the November protest case registered on in Sadiqabad Police Station. Aleema Khanum once again didn’t appear before the court.
Prosecutor Zaheer Shah confirmed APP that Bank Alfalah froze one account, MCB Bank froze another holding over Rs. 12.4 million, and Standard Chartered Bank also froze 10 accounts, totaling 12 frozen accounts holding by the accused
Arrest warrants for the two banks’ managers were issued for failing to respond to contempt of court notices. similarly, two more banks also face contempt notices for non-compliance.
Prosecutors argued during the hearing that accused Aleema Khanum deliberately flouting court orders, mocking the judicial process and stalling the trial despite her bail being confirmed from the same court. The court while agreeing with the arguments, inquired the details of movable and immovable properties and any registered companies of the accused.
The court also issued letters to DG Punjab Land Records Authority, Secretary Operations Punjab, Senior Member FBR, Chairman CDA Islamabad, Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman SECP for financial assets, companies and shareholding records related to the accused.
The hearing was adjourned until November 10.
