Statistics Division to host ‘Data Fest 2025’ in Islamabad

SUKKUR, Nov 06 (APP): The Statistics Division, Government of Pakistan, is set to host “Data Fest 2025” on November 11-12, 2025, at the Pak-China Friendship Center in Islamabad.
According to the handout issued here on Thursday, the event aims to bring together students from top educational institutions, government and private sector experts, researchers, and other stakeholders to discuss new ideas and models for data collection, analysis, and policy-making in the digital age.
The theme of the event includes economic development, environment, social equality, e-commerce, and digital data management. To promote the event, a joint awareness rally was organized by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) and Sukkur IBA University.
The rally was led by Chief Statistical Officer Sukkur, Wasim Haider Mangi, Mazhar Larik, Statistical Officer Safdar Gul Memon, Census District Coordinator Tariq Rauf, and IBA University’s senior representative, Rashid Hussain Abbasi. Officials from PBS, teachers, students, and citizens participated in large numbers.
In their addresses, PBS officials emphasized that the rally aimed to highlight the importance of data beyond government institutions and to create awareness among students about the significance of data and its proper use. They added that the Statistics Division is working to transition from manual data collection to complete digitalization under the “Digital Pakistan Initiative” and Vision 2030.
The speakers invited students to participate in Data Fest 2025, showcasing their creative and research-based models to become part of the future data politics, analysis, and technical research.
