ISLAMABAD, Nov 06 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police’s Bani Gala Police restrained an armed drug peddler, identified as Nisar alias “Gulama”, after he resisted arrest while attempting to flee with a loaded 12-bore weapon.
An official told APP on Thursday that Police Constable Jibran spotted Nisar alias Gulama, a known narcotics supplier in the area, during routine patrolling. As soon as the suspect saw the police, he tried to escape and brandished his loaded weapon, posing a serious threat to public safety.

He said Constable Jibran, showing exceptional bravery and presence of mind, engaged the armed suspect alone, keeping a safe position while continuously communicating with him to de-escalate the situation and ensure no civilian was harmed. The constable also documented crucial video evidence during the confrontation.
Despite strong resistance and armed aggression from the suspect, Constable Jibran closed the distance tactically, overpowered Nisar alias Gulama in a physical struggle, disarmed him, and secured handcuffs on the spot. The recovered firearm and ammunition, along with narcotics found in his possession, have been seized as evidence.
He added that a case has been registered under the CNSA and Arms Act, and further investigation is underway to identify his criminal network.
Residents praised the courageous action of the constable, saying he risked his own life to protect the community. They called on the senior command to recommend Constable Jibran for an award and recognition for his valor.
The ICT Police reaffirmed that operations will continue against drug peddlers and armed offenders to ensure the safety of the Capital.
