LAHORE, Nov 06 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority has busted a fake cold drink factory near Faizpur Interchange, arresting two suspects and seizing large quantities of adulterated drinks and equipments.
According to a spokesman, the Authority’s vigilance team raided the factory and found 25,800 liters of ready-to-drink cold drinks, 200 ready-to-eat packets, and 1,150 liters of solution being manufactured without proper licenses and approvals. The team also recovered 120 kg of caps, 150 kg of labels, 2,700 bottles, and 450 kg of flavor, which were destroyed on the spot.
The authority also seized 10 drums, empty bottles, filling machines, cylinders, pumps, coolers, and weight machines. Two cases have been registered against the factory owner.
The Director General PFA stated that the factory was operating without proper licenses and had poor sanitation conditions, with raw materials stored on the ground and contaminated with fungus. The Authority warned that consuming such fake cold drinks can cause kidney and liver damage.
