ISLAMABAD, Nov 06 (APP):The district administration’s daily surveillance report has shown a decline in dengue cases across Islamabad following extensive anti-dengue operations in both rural and urban areas.
Over 45,000 locations were inspected as part of the campaign, with field teams conducting large-scale spraying and fumigation activities to control mosquito breeding.
According to the report, 1,073 houses were sprayed, while 1,062 sites underwent fumigation under the ongoing dengue control plan. The teams inspected 45,306 sites during the field operations to identify and eliminate mosquito larvae.
In the past 24 hours, 10 new dengue cases were recorded in the capital — 8 from rural areas and 2 from urban sectors. Hospitals across Islamabad are currently treating 44 dengue patients.
During the larvae eradication drive, 337 sites tested positive for larvae presence, while 1 site tested negative. The administration noted that the campaign has helped reduce the overall number of new cases compared to earlier weeks.
Officials have directed field teams to intensify monitoring and operational efforts to further improve dengue control measures. The administration urged residents to immediately report any mosquito breeding or larvae found in their areas to the district control room for prompt action.
The district administration also warned that strict penalties and legal action will be taken against those violating dengue prevention standard operating procedures (SOPs), including property owners and businesses that fail to comply with hygiene and preventive guidelines.
Authorities emphasized that public participation remains essential for the complete elimination of dengue. Citizens have been advised to keep their surroundings clean, cover water containers, and cooperate with field teams conducting inspections and fumigation.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining field operations across all sectors of the city, with a focus on hotspot areas identified through data analysis and hospital reports. Regular surveillance and community engagement activities will continue as part of Islamabad’s dengue prevention plan.
With the number of dengue cases showing a visible downward trend, officials believe that the consistent efforts of field teams, combined with citizen cooperation, will help sustain the progress achieved in controlling the mosquito-borne disease across the capital.
