PESHAWAR, Nov 06 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, on the eve of Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Jammu (Martyrs of Jammu Day), paid rich tribute to the martyrs of Jammu and termed the tragedy of November 6, 1947, as one of the darkest and most tragic chapters in the history of the subcontinent.
Governor Kundi in his Message, said that the Dogra forces, in collusion with RSS and armed Hindu militias, carried out a brutal massacre of Muslims in Jammu, killing over 200,000 innocent people and forcing hundreds of thousands to flee their homes.
He said the Jammu massacre remains among the worst atrocities in human history, and the silence of the international community over such inhuman acts is deeply regrettable.
He added that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people are undeniable proof of the unfinished story of Jammu and Kashmir, where India’s illegal occupation continues to deny fundamental human rights to its people.
Governor Kundi further said that the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A is part of India’s dangerous plan to alter the demographic structure of the occupied region.
He said India’s actions are in blatant violation of UN resolutions and the Geneva Conventions.
Urging the international community to play a proactive role, he said it must not remain a silent spectator to Indian atrocities but instead work towards a just and lasting resolution of the long-standing Kashmir dispute.
Governor Kundi reaffirmed that the clear and firm stance of Shaheed Zulfikqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on Kashmir continues under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
“We pay glowing tribute to the martyrs of Jammu and reiterate our unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri people,” he said.
Governor Kundi concluded by reaffirming that Pakistan will always stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Kashmir in their struggle for freedom, dignity, and justice.
