Famous Brand outlet sealed for non-payment of Rs 6.4 million sales tax in Mirpur, AJK

MIRPUR, Oct 12 (APP):A local outlet of the famous brand ”DINER” was sealed by the Inland Revenue Department team late Saturday for non-payment of sales tax of Rs 6.4 million, it was officially said.
“This step was a part of the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s extensive move to ensure tax collection, take effective action against tax defaulters, and establish revenue discipline.
in the light of the orders of Commissioner Inland Revenue (South Zone) Mirpur Syed Ansar Ali,” the sources told APP here on Sunday.
“However, the management of Diner, later on, contacted the Inland Revenue Department and paid Rs 3.4 million of the due sales tax, coupled with a written assurance that they would deposit the remaining Rs 3.0 million in the next 10 to 15 days.
“After the categorical assurance of partial payment and payment of the remaining amount by the garments outlet Diner, it was formally de-sealed by the IRD authorities,” the sources said.
The de-sealing action was carried out by Assistant Commissioner Inland Revenue Mukhtar Ahmed, leading a team comprising Inspector Inland Revenue Tariq Ayub.
