World diabetes day observed; Citizens urged to adopt healthy lifestyle

PESHAWAR, Nov 06 (APP):Like other parts of the country, world diabetes day was observed here on Thursday with a call to adopt a healthy lifestyle to prevent and manage diabetes.
In this connection, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department, in collaboration with Gates Pharma, organized a free diabetes medical camp for the staff of TransPeshawar.
According to the TransPeshawar spokesperson, various screening and diagnostic tests were conducted for the company’s employees during the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Syed Murtaza Asghar Bukhari, Chief Executive Officer of TransPeshawar, said that health is a basic necessity for every human being.
He noted that the special camp aimed to raise awareness and ensure early detection of diabetes and related diseases among staff members.
Dr. Abrar Ahmad, Project Director of Extension of D-Talk and Insulin for Life at the KP Health Department, said that diabetes is a rapidly growing health challenge that can only be addressed through awareness, timely diagnosis, and adoption of a healthy lifestyle.
He added that the Health Department continues to organize awareness programs in collaboration with various organizations to improve the lives of people living with diabetes.
At the conclusion of the event, representatives of the Health Department and TransPeshawar management reiterated their resolve to continue such health-oriented initiatives in the future.
