MULTAN, Nov 05 (APP):Under the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar, the Haram Gate Police successfully solved a blind murder case through timely investigation and the use of modern forensic techniques.
According to police sources, on September 6 , police received a call on helpline 15 reporting that a woman had been shot dead in Mohalla Ghilaniyan. A police team reached the location and found the body of 55-year-old Zarina Begum w/o Muhammad Sajjad Ahmed, a resident of Nasirabad, Mumtazabad.
The victim was discovered lying in the courtyard, drenched in blood, while the unknown assailants had fled.
Police immediately collected forensic evidence from the scene, summoned PFSA and CRO teams, and shifted the body to Nishtar Hospital for post-mortem examination. After an intensive investigation based on modern technology and diligent efforts, the police managed to trace and arrest the victim’s
real nephew, Sarfraz Hussain s/o Ghulam Hussain, resident of Chak No.149/10R, Jahanian District Khanewal.
Police sources said that the accused had also participated in the post-mortem, funeral, and burial rituals to avoid suspicion.
During the preliminary investigation, the accused confessed to the crime, revealing that the motive was a dispute over family property and inheritance. Police have also recovered the murder weapon used in the incident.
CPO Multan Sadiq Ali Dogar praised the police team for their swift and effective action, emphasizing that protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority of the police.
