LAHORE, Nov 05 (APP):An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday extended the physical remand of Pir Zaheer-ul-Hasan Shah,
deputy Ameer of a banned religious party, for ten more days in a case involving an alleged provocative speech against a senior judicial figure.
ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill heard the case as the accused was presented before the court upon the expiry of his 6-day physical remand. The investigation officer requested an extension, stating that voice matching and photogrammetric tests had yet to be completed and further custody was required to finalize the forensic process.
However, defence counsel Rana Maqsood-ul-Haq Advocate opposed further remand, arguing that the accused had already been sent on three physical remands and that additional custody was unnecessary.
Accepting the plea, the court granted an additional 10-day physical remand and directed that the accused be produced again on November 15, 2025.
The case was registered at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Station in 2024, accusing Zaheerul Hassan Shah of delivering a provocative speech near Lahore Press Club against a senior judicial personality of that time.
