ATC extends physical remand of seven workers of banned religious party

LAHORE, Nov 05 (APP):An anti-terrorism court (ATC)  on Wednesday extended physical remand of seven workers belonging to a banned  religious party in a case related to an attack on police personnel.
The hearing was conducted by ATC Administrative Judge Manzer Ali Gill, who handed over the accused to police custody on 16-day physical remand.
Earlier, Baghbanpura Police Station officials presented the suspects before the court after the completion of their earlier remand.
The investigating officer requested an extension, stating that the accused were involved in attacking police officials and committing acts of arson and vandalism.
When the court inquired about recoveries made during the previous remand, the officer informed that clubs and sticks had been seized from the suspects.
The accused were identified as Muhammad Shiraz, Nadeem Amjad, Waqas Amjad, Zeeshan Amjad, Afzal Mehmood, and Abdul Rehman.
A  case of attempted murder and terrorism has been registered against the suspects at Baghbanpura Police Station.
