FAISALABAD, Nov 05 (APP): The Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) dispatched another relief consignment to flood-hit areas on Wednesday.
Speaking at a ceremony held to mark the dispatch of consignment of relief goods to flood-affected areas, Group Leader and Convener of FCCI Flood Relief Committee Mian Javed Iqbal said that Faisalabad Chamber had decided that all funds collected for flood relief would be distributed through the Maulana Tariq Jamil Foundation to ensure transparency and effectiveness.
He praised the Maulana Tariq Jamil Foundation for its exemplary humanitarian and welfare services and said that such organizations including Alkhidmat, Saylani and Edhi Foundation, etc would be trusted with eyes closed.
He said that the relief operation is being carried out with complete honesty and accountability to ensure that every contribution reaches the deserving families.
He said that the event was organized not only to send off the latest batch of relief supplies but also to express gratitude to donors and encourage more contributions for ongoing rehabilitation work in flood-hit regions.
The convener also extended special thanks to Maulana Yusuf Jamil, son of Maulana Tariq Jamil, for his personal involvement in the relief operations and coordination with the FCCI.
Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Yusuf Jamil said that Pakistan has become second-largest charity-giving nation in the world, largely due to the generosity of its business community.
He shared a brief overview of the Maulana Tariq Jamil Foundation, noting that the organization not only undertakes large-scale welfare activities across Pakistan but has also dispatched humanitarian aid missions to Turkey and Morocco in times of need.
The participants were informed that between September 10 and October 04, the Foundation with the assistance of local volunteers successfully rescued more than 120,000 people from flood-hit areas of Jalalpur Pirwala and provided food and medical aid to more than 160,000 individuals.
Addressing the session, Executive Committee Member FCCI Waheed Khaliq Ramay shared his field experience and said that he was assigned to oversee relief distribution in Chiniot and Bhawana, where he personally visited four times to ensure fair allocation.
FCCI President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh, Senior Vice President Naveed Akram Sheikh, Arif Ehsan Malik, Bilal Jamil, Hajji Muhammad Aslam Bhalli, Shahid Majeed, Jawaad Shafiq, Bau Akram, Rana Sikandar Azam, Mrs. Najma Afzal, Abdullah Qadri, Hajji Muhammad Ataullah, Hajji Muhammad Abid, Mian Muhammad Tayyab and Madam Rubina Amjad were also present on the occasion.
Later, Maulana Yusuf Jamil led a prayer for Pakistan’s prosperity, the well-being of flood victims and continued success in humanitarian endeavors.
