LAHORE, Nov 05 (APP):The newly-appointed Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan Tarik Ali Khan called on Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan in Islamabad.
The meeting deliberated on matters of mutual interest, focusing on fostering bilateral relations in agriculture, renewable energy, dairy, and poultry sectors.
During the meeting, Governor Punjab congratulated the Canadian High Commissioner on assuming his responsibilities in Pakistan and expressed his best wishes. He said Pakistan and Canada enjoy good and cordial relations. He underlined the need to further expand the trade relations between the two countries .
The governor said that there are vast investment opportunities in Pakistan in the dairy, meat, agriculture and textile sectors. He said that the government has adopted a favorable policy for foreign investors, due to which foreign direct investment in Pakistan is increasing. He said that a large number of Pakistanis living in Canada are playing a positive role in the Canadian economy. He added that Pakistan is keen to further expand bilateral cooperation with Canada in trade, environment and people-to-people contacts.
Canadian High Commissioner Tarik Ali reiterated his commitment to further promote bilateral relations between Pakistan and Canada in trade and other sectors.
