MIRPUR, Nov 5 (APP):Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has described the 1947 Jammu massacre as one of the most horrific tragedies in human history. In a statement issued on Wednesday, Haq paid tribute to the Jammu Muslim martyrs on the eve of Jammu Martyrs’ Day, observed on November 6.
Haq alleged that the brutal killings were a systematic plan executed by the Indian army, Dogra forces, RSS, and Akali Dal terrorists, patronized by Maharaja Hari Singh. The objective was to turn the Muslim majority of the state into a minority. Thousands of Muslims were killed, and tens of thousands were forced to migrate to Pakistan.
Citing British media reports, PM Haq stated that around 250,000 unarmed Muslims were martyred, while thousands of women were abducted. The Prime Minister praised the Kashmiri people for their unwavering struggle for freedom and vowed to support their cause.
Haq accused India of continuing to use tactics to alter the demographic composition of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A. He urged the international community to take notice of Indian atrocities and ensure the implementation of UN resolutions.
pm Haq reaffirmed his government’s support for the Kashmiris’ struggle for self-determination, saying their resolve and passion for freedom remain unbroken. He vowed to keep the torch of freedom burning bright, hoping that one day the green flag will be hoisted in Srinagar.
