ABBOTTABAD, Nov 05 (APP): A ceremony was held on the Hazara Expressway (E-35) for the laying of the foundation stone of the SSP Office, Line Headquarters, and Residential Complex of the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP).
The event marked a step toward improving administrative and residential facilities for motorway police officers and staff serving along the busy northern route.
The foundation stone was laid by the mother of martyred Sub-Inspector Shabbir Ahmed, as a gesture of honor and respect to the sacrifices rendered by the department’s martyrs.
The ceremony was attended by Inspector General NHMP B.A. Nasir, Additional IG North Region Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja, DIG Motorway, and other senior police officers.
Speaking on the occasion, IG B.A. Nasir said that the Motorway Police remains fully committed to the welfare and well-being of its officers and employees.
He emphasized that the new complex will provide better working conditions, modern facilities, and a healthy residential environment for officers, enabling them to perform their duties with greater dedication and efficiency.
He further stated that the NHMP has always prioritized professionalism, discipline, and public service, and the establishment of modern infrastructure is a reflection of the department’s long-term vision to strengthen law enforcement capabilities on national highways and motorways.
Paying glowing tribute to the sacrifices of the department’s martyrs, IG B.A. Nasir said that so far, 53 officers and personnel have laid down their lives in the line of duty, upholding the traditions of courage, commitment, and public service.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for the martyrs, followed by a briefing on the upcoming construction plan and welfare projects aimed at further improving operational efficiency and staff well-being within the Motorway Police network.
