SIALKOT, Nov 05 (APP): Director General of Price Control and Commodities Management Imran Qureshi has said that a mobile app for quick redress of consumer complaints under the Consumer Protection Act 2005 is 80 per cent complete. The app will allow users to file complaints, track progress, and attend hearings online.
He shared this while addressing an awareness session at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The session was attended by Chamber President Syed Ikhtisham Gilani, President of Anjuman-e-Tajran Mehr Mujtaba, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Abbas Zulqarnain, and other stakeholders.
Qureshi said the app will be available in Urdu, English, and Punjabi and will help ensure faster resolution of complaints. He added that powers of Deputy Commissioners are being delegated to Assistant Commissioners and Legal Officers at the tehsil level.
Chamber President Syed Ikhtisham Gilani praised the Punjab government’s initiatives to strengthen consumer rights. Additional DG Azooba Azeem said that awareness campaigns are being expanded as most citizens are still unaware of the law.
