DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 05 (APP):The district administration has launched a drive to create awareness among people against dengue fever which poses risk to lives.
In this regard, It is pursuing a multi-pronged approach involving public health messaging, fumigation, and the elimination of mosquito breeding sites to effectively prevent the disease and citizens have been urged to take preventive measures against dengue fever.
It says that dengue spreads through the bite of infected mosquitoes but can be effectively prevented through collective community efforts.
People have been advised to keep their surroundings clean, cover water containers, and remove stagnant water where mosquitoes breed.
Health experts also stressed the importance of using mosquito repellents, wearing full-sleeved clothing, and installing nets around sleeping areas.
The administration has intensified public awareness campaigns, focusing on schools, markets, and residential areas to encourage preventive action and reduce dengue cases.
Authorities said that community cooperation was vital to control the spread — as timely cleanliness and vigilance can save lives, it added.
