LAHORE, Nov 05 (APP):A delegation comprising 200 students from various colleges and universities visited the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) under the Punjab Police Internship Programme.
During the study visit, participants were given a detailed briefing on modern policing techniques and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing law enforcement capabilities.
Students also visited the Monitoring Center, where they observed real-time citywide surveillance through the Digital Wall and learned about the operational efficiency of the Safe City system.
The delegation was briefed on the upgradation and advanced facilities of the Punjab Police Emergency Helpline 15, as well as innovative initiatives such as the Virtual Women Police Station, Blood Bank, and Misaq Center.
Students expressed their appreciation for the IT-based policing model, terming the Safe City operations as impressive and reassuring. They remarked that they felt safer and more confident after witnessing the technological advancements firsthand.
Participants noted that the Safe Cities project, through the effective use of modern technology and AI-driven monitoring, is playing a crucial role in controlling crime and ensuring public safety across Lahore.
