Illegal timber recovered, two arrested on Hazara Motorway

PESHAWAR, Nov 05 (APP):The Forest Department conducted a successful operation on the Hazara Motorway, recovering valuable timber and arresting two suspects.
According to the District Forest Officer (DFO) Haripur on Wednesday, the action was taken following a tip-off from an informant.
The informant reported that timber was being illegally transported from Qalandarabad via the Hazara Motorway. Acting on information, the forest team set up a checkpoint at the Shah Maqsood Interchange.
During the operation, two vehicles broke through the checkpoint and attempted to flee. However, the forest officials pursued and intercepted them at the Chechiyan Interchange. Upon inspection, valuable timber worth hundreds of thousands of rupees was recovered from a Suzuki pickup and a Suzuki Carry.
Both suspects were arrested and investigation was launched into the illegal timber smuggling network.
