RAWALPINDI, November 05 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Rawalpindi Division has intensified its crackdown on adulterated and unhygienic food items, conducting major operations in Chakwal and Attock to protect public health.
According to a PFA spokesperson, a raid in Chakwal led to the discovery of a fake Khoya (sweetened evaporated milk solids) production unit, where over two maunds of adulterated Khoya were confiscated and destroyed on the spot.
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against the culprits involved in food adulteration.
In a separate operation in Attock’s Mochi Gali, the authority seized over one maund of substandard and foul-smelling meat, which was immediately discarded to prevent it from reaching consumers.
The shop was sealed due to extremely poor hygiene conditions, and an FIR was filed against the owners for violating food safety laws.
The Punjab Food Authority has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the availability of safe and hygienic food products across Rawalpindi Division, warning that strict action will continue against those involved in food adulteration and unhygienic practices.
Citizens have been urged to report any food safety violations or complaints by calling the PFA helpline 1223.
