LAHORE, Nov 05 (APP):The district administration accelerated the “Suthra Punjab” campaign, eliminating 981 encroachments and removing 2,390 illegal banners and flexes in a major operation across the city.
According to a spokesperson for the district administration, the drive was conducted under the direct supervision of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore Syed Musa Raza. The operation saw the participation of the district administration and the Regulation Wing of the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL), targeting various commercial areas, main boulevards, and marketplaces to restore public spaces and curb visual pollution.
The spokesperson confirmed that the campaign, aimed at ensuring the city’s cleanliness and beauty, is being conducted on a daily basis. Material from the demolished encroachments was confiscated by the authorities.
DC Syed Musa Raza, reviewing the operations, directed the officials to ensure the immediate removal of any encroachment causing traffic congestion. He ordered that the grand operation must continue until the last illegal structure is removed and that the law be applied uniformly and strictly across all zones. “The process of removing encroachments should be completed in a transparent and systematic manner,” the DC emphasized, adding that the restoration of public spaces would be ensured at all costs. He reiterated the administration’s unwavering commitment to transforming Lahore into an encroachment-free, clean, and beautiful city. “Our teams are working tirelessly to check every corner of the city. There will be no compromise on the rule of law,” the Deputy Commissioner said.
The administration has urged citizens to report any encroachments by calling the helpline at 0307-0002345 or through its official social media channels.
