RAWALPINDI, Nov 04 (APP):A fake candidate was caught red-handed during the intermediate second annual examination 2025 as Controller of Examinations, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi, Tanveer Asghar Awan, carried out surprise inspections of various examination centres on Tuesday.
According to a BISE spokesman, during the controller’s visit to the Government Taleem-ul-Quran High School centre in Taxila, the superintendent detected an impersonator who had attempted to sit the Islamic Studies paper in place of the actual candidate. The suspect, identified as Saifur Rehman, a resident of Usman Khattar, Taxila, reportedly tried to appear for candidate Muhammad Daniyal, Roll Number 809668.
Before the commencement of the paper, the superintendent matched the photograph on the roll number slip with the candidate present and found discrepancies, leading to the immediate arrest of the impersonator. Both the fake and actual candidates were handed over to the police, while the examination centre superintendent applied for a first information report to the relevant police station.
Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan said impersonation would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He added that stringent monitoring and foolproof arrangements had enabled the staff to intercept the suspect in time. “Strict legal action will be taken against such elements. Full compliance with the Punjab Government’s zero-tolerance policy is being ensured, and no violation of examination SOPs will be allowed,” he stated.
