ISLAMABAD, Nov 04 (APP):A high-level parliamentary delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran, led by Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis-e-Shura-ye-Islam), will arrive in Pakistan on Wednesday for a three-day official visit.
The visit comes at the special invitation of the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and aims to further strengthen parliamentary relations between Pakistan and Iran.
It will also provide an opportunity for both neighboring countries to discuss ways to promote peace, development, and economic cooperation in the region.
During the visit, the Iranian delegation will meet with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Chairman Senate, the Speaker National Assembly, members of the Pakistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group, and representatives of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
The delegation will also hold detailed discussions with the Pakistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly to explore enhanced collaboration in trade, energy, border management, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connectivity.
The visit of Speaker Dr. Ghalibaf is expected to further consolidate the historic and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iran while promoting regional stability, mutual trust, and shared prosperity.
It will mark a new chapter of active inter-parliamentary engagement and dialogue between the two nations.
During their stay, the Iranian delegation will also visit Lahore and Karachi. In Lahore, they will pay homage at the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and meet with the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab. In Karachi, the delegation will visit the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and hold meetings with the Speaker of the Sindh Assembly and members of the city’s business community.
