Abbasi commends railway team for restoring Khanewal-Shorkot section

ISLAMABAD, Nov 04 (APP):Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi Tuesday lauded the dedicated efforts of the railway team involved in the restoration of the Khanewal-Shorkot railway section, which was reopened after being closed for nearly 45 days due to heavy rains and flooding.
The minister congratulated the entire team for completing the repair and restoration work in just 10 days, terming it a remarkable achievement reflecting hard work, commitment and professional excellence, said a press release.
Several passenger trains including Pakistan Express, Shalimar Express and Millat Express had been affected by the closure but have now resumed operations. Overall, eight passenger trains and 6 freight trains were disrupted due to the damage.
During the suspension, the passengers from Faisalabad, Gojra, Toba Tek Singh, Jaranwala, Pir Mahal and Shorkot faced significant inconvenience.
The minister particularly appreciated AGM/I Hammad Hasan Mirza and the officers and staff who played a leading role in the restoration efforts.
Those acknowledged for their outstanding contributions included Railway Track Workers (Gangmen and Assistants), Mazhar Iqbal-PWI, Jahangir-IOW, Sarwan Ali-AEN/KWL, Engineer Rehan Sabir- DEN-I/MUL, Engr Rizwan Javed Cheema-Deputy Chief Engineer (North), Engineer Farid Ahmed-CEN/OL and Engr Hammad Hasan Mirza-AGM/I.
The minister emphasized that this success is a testament to the team’s dedication, perseverance and technical expertise, expressing pride in the entire Pakistan Railways workforce.
