ISLAMABAD, Nov 4 (APP):The National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and NETSOL Technologies have launched a major initiative to upskill Pakistan’s youth, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide 1,600 fully-funded scholarships in high-demand technology fields.
The “National AI Upskilling Initiative,” signed into effect on Tuesday, will deliver comprehensive training in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cybersecurity, said a press release.
As a cornerstone of the program, participants will also have the opportunity to earn international certifications from recognized global bodies, with all training provided completely free of cost.
Muhammad Aamir Jan, Executive Director of NAVTTC, emphasized the initiative’s strategic importance. “This partnership is a strategic leap under our Industry-Led Trainings component in our mission to future-proof Pakistan’s workforce,” he stated. “By providing free, certified training in these frontier technologies, we are not just creating job seekers but future innovators and entrepreneurs who will drive our national economy forward. NAVTTC is committed in ensuring our youth are not left behind but are leading the charge in the global digital revolution.”
The initiative, a key component of the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Program (PMYSDP 2023–2026), was formalized at a signing ceremony between Muhammad Aamir Jan and NETSOL’s CEO & Founder, Salim Ghauri.
Ghauri expressed his strong support, stating, “I would like to thank the NAVTTC team for bringing this collaboration to fruition. We have been in business for 30 years with very limited partners because we believe in quality and maintaining standards. It has been a longstanding wish to venture into education, but we didn’t want to do it commercially. These trainings will help Pakistan and its youth and contribute to our economy as well.”
Designed to directly address the global skills gap, the “National AI Upskilling Initiative” aims to create a robust pipeline of tech talent, empowering a new generation to contribute to Pakistan’s growing digital ecosystem and compete effectively in the international market.
