MULTAN, Nov 04 (APP):The district administration has ramped up efforts to prevent the spread of dengue across the city following concerns of a possible outbreak.
Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Waseem Hamid Sindhu, field teams have been mobilized to carry out an extensive anti-dengue campaign. The teams are conducting inspections and eliminating dengue larvae in homes, markets, and public places. Spraying and chemical treatments have also been launched in high-risk areas to eradicate potential breeding sites.
In a statement, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted that daily surveillance and inspections are key elements of a special campaign aimed at ensuring a rapid response and maintaining accountability. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against those found responsible for creating conditions conducive to dengue larvae breeding.
He urged citizens to stay vigilant and prevent water from accumulating in both residential and public spaces, emphasizing that community cooperation is vital to successfully combating the disease.
The district administration has also directed all relevant departments to take coordinated action against dengue. In addition, awareness campaigns have been launched in schools, offices, and markets to educate the public on preventive measures.
The Deputy Commissioner reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to protecting public health and ensuring that Multan becomes a dengue-free city.
