Chinese envoy, Punjab Home secy discuss security of Chinese nationals

LAHORE, Nov 04 (APP): Chinese Consul General Visits Punjab Home Department to Discuss Security for Chinese Nationals

Chinese Consul General (CG) Zhao Shiren, along with a delegation, visited the Punjab Home Department on Tuesday and held a meeting with Secretary Home Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi.
The discussion focused on matters related to law and order, as well as security arrangements for Chinese nationals residing and working in Punjab.
The meeting was attended by Deputy CG of China, Special Secretary Home, Additional Secretary for Foreign National Security, Additional Secretary Internal Security, Additional Secretary Home, and other senior officials.
Speaking during the meeting, Consul General Zhao Shiren highlighted China’s involvement in major infrastructure projects in Pakistan and expressed that Chinese companies were eager to increase their investment in the country. He commended the Punjab Home Department for its efforts in maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of Chinese nationals.
Secretary Home Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi assured that the security of officials and tourists associated with CPEC projects remained a top priority for the Punjab government. He confirmed that comprehensive security arrangements were in place across all industrial zones, emphasizing the Home Department’s commitment to ensuring the safety and convenience of all Chinese residents in Punjab.
Dr. Qazi added that the capacity of the Special Protection Unit was being enhanced to further strengthen security measures for Chinese nationals, and that the provincial government was fully adhering to federal guidelines to ensure the safe movement of Chinese citizens. He also expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for its continued cooperation.
During the visit, Consul General Zhao Shiren took a keen interest in various products made by inmates under the Punjab Chief Minister’s Prison Reforms initiative.
