MULTAN, Nov 04 (APP):The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has launched a city-wide bamboo tree plantation drive aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and enhancing greenery.
Director General of PHA, Karim Bakhsh, announced the initiative on Tuesday, highlighting that bamboo trees are being planted at various locations, including green belts, throughout the city.
Over 100 bamboo trees have already been planted along the boundary wall of Women University, with additional plantation efforts underway at other sites.
Karim Bakhsh emphasized that bamboo, being a fast-growing and resilient tree, is ideal for the initiative, which is being carried out under the directives of the Government of Punjab.
He further stated that, alongside bamboo, the plantation of other tree species is also part of the broader goals outlined in the Punjab Chief Minister’s Green Vision Plan.
