SIALKOT, Nov 04 (APP): Police claimed to have arrested an individual who had made a false report of a dacoity to the police emergency helpline, 15, within the jurisdiction of the Cantt. Police Station, according to an official statement.
The official explained that the helpline received a call from the accused, Fahad, who claimed that some unidentified dacoits on a motorcycle had robbed him of Rs. 180,000 at gunpoint near Cantt.
Upon receiving the distress call, a police team was dispatched to the scene. During the initial investigation, the accused provided details of the alleged robbery. However, after reviewing nearby CCTV footage, the police discovered that no such dacoity had occurred at the reported location.
Further questioning of the accused led him to admit that the entire story was fabricated. A case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
