ISLAMABAD, Nov 04 (APP): Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for news-sharing cooperation during a virtual ceremony held via Zoom.
The signing took place in the presence of Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr Zafar Iqbal, Managing Director APP Muhammad Asim Khichi, and KUNA Acting Director General Mohammed Al-Mannaie, along with senior officials from both sides.

Ambassador Dr Zafar introduced the officials from both news agencies and congratulated them on what he termed a “historic day” for Pakistan-Kuwait relations and the beginning of a new era in media cooperation.
He said the MoU would help bring the two nations closer and enhance regional connectivity, particularly at a time when the flow of credible information was crucial.

He also highlighted the importance of people-to-people exchanges and training programmes in strengthening professional capabilities.
KUNA Acting DG Mohammed Al-Mannaie described the agreement as a gateway to deeper collaboration in media and journalism training.
He thanked the ambassador for his support and expressed hope for a sustainable partnership that would also promote cultural and professional exchange.
Managing Director APP said the world was now witnessing an era of “media and counter-narratives”, where partnerships like this held great importance.
He underscored the brotherly ties between Pakistan and Kuwait and reaffirmed APP’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Middle Eastern media organisations.
He added that the MoU would lead to closer coordination and greater capacity building between the two agencies.
