LAHORE, Nov 04 (APP):A review meeting of the ongoing 10-day modern fractional-does inactivated polio vaccine (FIPV) campaign was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza and Head of Anti-Polio Campaign Adeel Tasawar here on Monday.
The meeting took a detailed review of the first day’s performance of the campaign. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Chief Executive Officer (Health), Assistant Commissioners, observers, and representatives of relevant departments attended the session.
During the briefing, the CEO Health informed that more than 18 percent of the set targets were successfully achieved on the very first day of the special FIPV campaign. Observers appreciated the timely attendance and commendable performance of field staff engaged in vaccination efforts.
On the occasion, Adeel Tasawar directed that the safety of all frontline workers must be ensured under all circumstances. He urged the field teams to continue their positive attitude and commitment to make the campaign a complete success. He termed the initial progress of the campaign encouraging and praised the coordination among health and administrative teams.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza said that the district administration and Health Department were extending full support to field workers. “Making Lahore completely polio-free is our mission,” he emphasized. He added that the modern FIPV vaccine serves as an effective booster dose after the traditional oral drops and will prove to be a game changer in eradicating polio once and for all. He appreciated the hard work and dedication of the field staff, assuring them of the administration’s full backing. He said the cooperation of both public and private educational institutions was vital for the success of this important health initiative, which aims to protect every child through free administration of the latest FIPV vaccine.
