Balochistan govt to establish nursing colleges through Public-Private Partnership

QUETTA, Nov 04 (APP): Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Tuesday announced the establishment of nursing colleges in all divisions and key districts of Balochistan under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to address the rising demand of nurses.
In collaboration with Khyber Medical University, the initiative aims to prepare 2,000 trained nurses annually, significantly strengthening the province’s healthcare system on a sustainable basis.
It was also decided that existing public nursing colleges will continue their academic activities as usual to ensure a steady increase in the number of trained professionals.
CM Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that the provincial government is developing a comprehensive plan to train young people in line with modern healthcare and nursing standards.
 He highlighted the growing global demand for skilled healthcare professionals and stressed the importance of providing international-standard training to Balochistan’s youth.
“We are opening dignified and secure employment pathways for our youth in the nursing and healthcare sectors both locally and internationally,” Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti added.
He also said that the government is committed to ensuring that skilled youth from Balochistan not only serve their communities but also represent the province on the global stage.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the provincial government is prioritizing training, technology, and infrastructure to uplift the health sector. He affirmed that a strong healthcare system is the foundation for delivering quality medical services to the people of Balochistan.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, senior officials from the Health Department, and representatives from Khyber Medical University.
Divisional Commissioners from across the province joined the session online and presented proposals along with identifying suitable buildings for the establishment of new nursing colleges.
