DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 03 (APP):District Police Officer (DPO) Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada on Monday reaffirmed his commitment to merit, transparency, and welfare within the force, while warning officers and personnel of strict disciplinary action against corruption and smuggling.
He expressed these views while addressing a police darbar held at Ejaz Shaheed Police Lines, organized to listen to and resolve the grievances of police officers and constables.
The event was held under the vision of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed.
Upon his arrival, the DPO was presented a guard of honour and offered Fateha at the Martyrs’ Memorial.
A large number of officers from different wings—including the District Police, Elite Force, Al-Barq Force, and Traffic Police—attended the gathering and presented their suggestions and concerns.
DPO Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada issued immediate directions for the redressal of several issues raised during the session. He also announced the formation of a special committee comprising the Incharge of the Shaheed Police Desk and other officers to ensure prompt medical aid and reporting in case of any police personnel being injured in the line of duty.
To ensure transparency and merit-based postings at check posts, the DPO also constituted a committee under the supervision of SP City Ali Hamza to prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for future deployments.
Commending the bravery of Dera Police, the DPO praised their timely response in foiling a terrorist attack on the Police Training School, calling it “a matter of pride and honour for the entire force.”
He urged all officers and personnel to perform their duties with integrity and dedication, adding that efforts were being made to address the welfare issues of police officials on a priority basis.
The session concluded with a prayer for peace, security, and the prosperity of the country.
