Saudi Minister seeks Pakistan’s support in upcoming IMO elections

KARACHI, Nov 03 (APP):The Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan and Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Aljasser on Monday discussed different projects and upcoming International Maritime Organization (IMO) elections, on Monday.
The Saudi Minister sought Pakistan’s vote to the IMO polls, saying that the elections were approaching and would need Pakistan’s vote to this effect.
Federal Minister Aleem Khan said that Pakistan would support her (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) in the elections process.
He said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had brotherly and deep relations.
He said, ‘We are happy to see you in Pakistan.’ He further said that it was your first visit and hoped to see him on frequently basis.
While briefing on various projects and initiatives being carried out by Ministry for Communications, Aleem Khan said that our networks were vibrant and Pakistan was focusing on a vast network of roads and highways.
He remarked that our people were used to pay toll, which made our networks of roads effective.
The Communication Minister said we were focusing on new motorways to connect northern areas with other areas of the country and there were many initiatives being taken in the road area.
He also highlighted the performance of National Highway Authority (NHA).
Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Aljasser on the occasion said, ‘I am honoured to visit Pakistan. He said that the relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were very deep.
The Saudi Minister said we had bilateral collaborations even in the international institutions.
He briefed on new technology efforts, which were helping in better education, roads and safety requirements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He also offered assistance in Pakistani projects.
