ATC reissues non-bailable warrants for Aleema Khan, bank accounts freezed

RAWALPINDI, Nov 03 (APP):The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) reissued non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan and her legal team for the seventh time following her continued absence from court proceedings.
Details of 30 bank accounts registered in Aleema Khan’s name were submitted to the court. In a stern move, the court issued show-cause notices for contempt of court to five banks including Bank Al-Mukarramah, United Bank Limited (UBL), Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB), Habib Metro Bank, and Faisal Bank, for failing to freeze these accounts as directed.
However some of her bank accounts have also been frozen by the various back, report of which was submitted to the court.
According to the details, Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Amjad Shah presided the hearing on Monday for the case linked to the November 26 protest, involving Aleema Khan and 10 other accused individuals.
The report submitted to the court highlighted that some of the accounts are associated with charitable entities, including Namal University have been siezed. The court also summoned other banks that had not complied by submitting required reports.
Three of the accused appeared personally in court, while representatives for the remaining seven were present.
Prosecutor Zahir Shah, along with five prosecution witnesses, attended the proceedings and presented the case property.
The hearing has been adjourned until November 06.
