Dry, cold conditions to persist; Northern Areas brace for rain, snow

ISLAMABAD, Nov 3 (APP): The National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released a comprehensive weather advisory, forecasting dry and cold conditions across most parts of Pakistan in upcoming days.

According to the NEOC, a new westerly wave has entered the region, bringing the potential for light rain and snowfall in northern areas, particularly in Chitral, Dir, Malakand, Abbottabad, and Mansehra on November 3 and 4. Residents in these regions have been advised to prepare for colder temperatures and possible travel disruptions.

Punjab: Dry weather is expected to continue from November 3 to 8, with fog and smog likely to affect visibility and air quality, especially during early mornings and evenings.

Balochistan: The province will experience dry conditions throughout the week, with cloudy skies anticipated in upper regions on November 6.

Sindh: A dry spell is forecast from November 3 to 8, with no significant weather changes expected.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Weather will remain generally dry and cold, particularly in elevated areas.

Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir: From November 3 to 6, the region will see cloudy and cold conditions,
with light rain or snowfall likely in hilly areas including Astore, Skardu, Hunza, Bagh, Neelum Valley, and
Muzaffarabad.

The NDMA is actively coordinating with provincial and local authorities, issuing timely alerts to ensure preparedness and minimize potential risks associated with changing weather patterns.
